Bluegrass Review Dec 9-Dec 15, 2017 #1750

After opening with recent Thomm Jutz work, we play a couple of songs that express singers’ differing relationships with home. The song Head Over Heels has an interesting evolution, and we cover it during the Gem of Bluegrass. Later, we spend a little time with Marc and Brandi Janssen of Iowa City. This old-time music playing couple shares some duets with us. Ricky Wasson is a former J.D. Crowe sideman whose current group sings and plays a lot like the J.D. Crowe bands of yore. We demonstrate what we mean.
