Bluegrass Review Oct 21, 2017-Oct 27, 2017 #1743

Towards the beginning of the show, we present a couple of broken hearted melodies; one recent and the other from 1-20 years ago. On the Gem of Bluegrass, we discuss the evolution of the Bill Monroe song “Body and Soul.” It seems to be based on an earlier Monroe song, and has had an interesting evolution that owes to the number of players who have had a hand in it. Later, we have a musical conversation with Adam Kiesling. We talk about his group, Corpse Reviver, whose mission is to perform songs that are present on the Harry Smith Anthology of American Folk Music.
