Bluegrass Review Oct 14, 2017-Oct 20, 2017 #1742

You might know that there is a lot of misery in personal relationships depicted in bluegrass songs. But that is not so in the Rebekah long and Donna Ulisse songs that open our show. Both of these singers and songwriters enjoy writing about happy love relationships. Black music and white music. African American and Anglo American musical expressions differ from each other, but they influence each other. That is the topic of this week’s Gem of Bluegrass. Later on, we have a musical conversation with Adam Kiesling of Minneapolis. Adam plays many kinds of old-time music in traditional ways, but he also has surprises up his sleeve. The show concludes with a few spins of new bluegrass.
