Bluegrass Review Sept 30, 2017-Oct 6, 2017 #1740

Some say that every person alive has demons. The Grascals has a new song which tackles the subject head on. We follow that up with two songs where the singer sings about money as a demon. There is a lot to be said for instrumentalists playing the melody, especially in fiddle music. But they are also expected to create cool variations to melodies. That is the subject of today’s gem of bluegrass. Later, we have a musical conversation with Beth Rotto. Beth plays Scandinavian American old-time music on the fiddle. In a home session, Beth tells of getting involved with this tradition, and some of the amazing projects she is part of.
