Bluegrass Review Jan 28, 2017-Feb 3, 2017 #1705

There are plenty of songs about coal, and plenty of them about guns. But there are not many sung from the point of view or either, and that is how we begin our show. Later, the Gem of Bluegrass presents songs that deal somehow with the passing of time. Then we present an interesting collection of songs about hobos and hoboing, and finally, a conversation with Pacific Northwest musicians and folk music archivists, Phil and Vivian Williams of Seattle. We’ll be talking about the music that arrived in the Pacific northwest on the Oregon trail in the mid-nineteenth century.
