Bluegrass Review Jan 21, 2017-Jan 27, 2017 (second hour) #1604

Early on today, we play a couple of songs about the breakup dance. In one, the singer has a feeling that the relationship is about to end. In the other, it’s already ended. On the Gem of Bluegrass, we track the influence of Flatt and Scruggs. Forty years after the group’s demise, bluegrass groups continue to play their music. Later, we focus on the Carter Family and the kind of sentimental song favored by the group. That kind of song is still current in Bluegrass music.
